A Woodspirit this chilly Monday

The process. This apple tree has been hanging around for years. So long in fact that the worms have chewed huge piles of sawdust between the bark and the wood and removing the bark makes a terrible mess. However, the end result is rather lovely. Hard as hell so every move is encouraged with my mallet and muscle but still rewarding to see the incredible colour after just a coat of oil and beeswax. 

The Woodspirit has always made me happy. Something about a face lingering just behind the bark seems very appealing. Mine tend to have happier expressions these days. Must be the very joy-filled life I am living!
